Huddersfield Town fell to a limp, injury-time defeat at home to strugglers Cambridge United at The John Smiths Stadium.
Sully Kaikai and James Brophy ensured the Terriers did not return to winning ways. They have now lost back-to-back games against sides in the League One relegation battle.
Huddersfield Town started the better of the two sides at the John Smith’s Stadium with the biggest of their chances falling to Antony Evans in the 15th minute.
Evans received the ball to the right of the 18-yard area and cut inside before curling his effort just over the Cambridge United crossbar.
Cambridge United did have chances, including a James Brophy volley which was blocked just before half time following a brilliant drilled cross from Paul Digby.
Elias Kachunga also had an opportunity to score against his former side just before the half hour mark.
James Gibbons broke with pace down the left wing and found Kachunga in space, but he could only strike into the body of a Town defender.
But against the run of play, Cambridge took the lead in the 69th minute thanks to a curling left footed strike from James Brophy who found far too much space on the edge of the Huddersfield box.
It was followed by boos from the home crowd, and an angry chorus of “You’re not fit to wear the shirt”.
Huddersfield then had a trio of very good chances, first Dion Charles who was found by Lasse Sorensen inside the box, but he could only strike high and wide into the stand behind the goal.
Joe Taylor was clean through on goal against Steven’s, but he also fired high over the crossbar, much to the anger of the home support.
Then Koroma completed the hat-trick, not quite as high or ugly but the anger was growing inside the John Smiths Stadium.
Then, out of nowhere, Huddersfield found themselves level, the ball fell to Koroma and he made no mistake this time, firing home from just four yards out.
There was a roar as the fourth official confirmed five minutes of added time, the home crowd hopeful of a late comeback.
But it wasn’t Town’s Day, as the visitors went straight up the other end and Brophy turned provider, he found Sully Kaikai who was arriving in the box and stylishly put the U’s back in front.
