A number of League One clubs are interested in 22-year-old Keenan Appiah-Forson after an impressive first season at Southend, The Lower Tiers understands.
The ex-West-Ham player won Southend United’s Young Player Of The Season award for the 2024/25 season as it became apparent that The Shrimpers had a special player on his hands.
To the knowledge of League One clubs, Appiah-Forson is only going to get better and with his contract coming to an end next summer, it will take a decent fee to sign one of Southend’s biggest assets.
Southend United’s Young Player Of The Season primarily plays as a right winger but can also drop into central midfielder due to his stamina and high intensity style of play.
The 2024/24 Season
Only 16 of those have been starts but most of those have come towards the end of the season and has played a huge part in Southend’s National League promotion push via the Play-Offs which is yet to come to a conclusion.
Despite being 3-1 down, Southend came from behind to beat Rochdale 4-3 after extra time in the National League Play-Off Quarter Final.
Keenan Appiah-Forson played all 120 minutes in the tie and is expected to play a huge role in Wednesday’s semi-final when they travel to Forest Green Rovers.
Keenan Appiah-Forson’s Career So Far
Born in Greenwich, Appiah-Forson learned his trade in West Ham United’s academy before gaining experience on loan in the Vanarama National League with Dagenham & Redbridge during the 2023/24 season.
Forson made his senior debut for West Ham in a 1–0 loss against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League, coming on as an 87th minute substitute for Sonny Perkins.
In 2024, West Ham announced that Keenan Appiah-Forson would be leaving the club in the summer which led to his move to Southend United on a two-year-deal.
