EXCLUSIVE – Peterborough Prospect Set To Turn Down Contract

Andre Changunda is set to turn down Peterborough United’s contract offer with clubs in Europe tracking the winger.

The 17-year-old made his professional debut for Posh this season when coming on as a sub in the last game of the season against Rotherham United.

After making his professional debut, Andre said ‘I’m grateful for the gaffer to give me this opportunity to go out there and express myself today.

‘I only found out that I’d be involved last Wednesday when Ryan Semple told me to be ready and come in early on Friday’.

As described on the clubs website, the Slovakian is ‘a winger from Finsbury Park. Has the ability to go both ways in one v one duels, which makes him a dangerous opponent. He enjoys setting up goals just as much as scoring them himself. He can also play in the number 10 role where he brings that creativity to the position’.

On February 11, 2023, he made his debut for the Under 18s during the team’s 2-1 victory over Burnley U18s. He played for the U21s and the U18s on a regular basis throughout the 2023–2024 season.

After an outstanding season, he was named captain of the Youth squad for the 2024–2024 campaign.

During his time with the youth team, Andre Changunda has made 76 appearances whilst scoring 12 goals and getting 10 assists. They are great numbers to be putting up and it shows just how high his ceiling is.

The youngster is clearly highly rated and Peterborough could be about to lose him with clubs in Europe sniffing around.

It also demonstrates once more how successful Peterborough United’s academy has been. This is evident from the players who have emerged in the last several seasons, like Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Ricky-Jade Jones, and Kyle Barker.
