Newly promoted EFL League One side Bradford City are set to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025/2026 season by adding Barnsley forward Stephen Humphrys to their ranks.
The 27-year-old joined The Tykes last summer following a three-year spell at fellow League one side Wigan Athletic, signing a one-year deal with the option of a further deal.
However, he is set to reject the offer of a new deal at Oakwell, instead opting to join Graham Alexander’s Bradford City.
During his time at Barnsley, he made 37 league appearances, 26 of which were starts, and accumulated 11 goals during this time.
The former Rochdale and Southend United player will add some League One experience to the side, having featured in the division for the two respective clubs, as well as Scunthorpe United and Shrewsbury Town.
He has also featured, and scored, in the UEFA Europa Conference League during a loan spell at Scottish club Hearts during the 2022/2023 season.
What Does Humphrys Bring?
The signing of Humphrys will be hugely beneficial, with prolific City number 9 Andy Cook not getting any younger and has not featured since the start of January after having surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury suffered against Barrow.
The Bantams are looking for some competition in the attacking ranks, and they will be hoping that Humphrys would be able to provide it.
