Swindon and Bromley Chase National League Star

Swindon Town and Bromley are interested in signing National League sensation Jake Tabor.

The striker has been running the show in the lower leagues, being England’s top scorer for the past two seasons.

The 22-year-old forward has scored 127 goals in 97 appearances across the last two years with Amersham Town, who play in step five of the pyramid. Needless to say, this form has caught the eye of many clubs in League Two and above.

Amersham failed to get promoted last season, following which they agreed to terminate Tabor’s contract to allow him to seek a move up the divisions with freedom.

Both Swindon and Bromley have offered to take the striker on for a trial, with Barrow said to be in the conversation as well.

Tabor Makes Crucial Decision

With a decision to make, Tabor has stated he will not go on trial with just one side for six weeks, instead will take single week trials with several clubs.

β€œI have got quite a few teams that I can go on trials with, but the problem is that pre-season is only about six weeks.

β€œI have enough teams where I could do six trials, but then, come the start of the season, I would not be tied down to any club.

β€œI think you have to be a bit sensible. I will go on trial for the first week and see if they want me, and if not, then I will go on trial at the next place.

β€œI would want to do three maximum, and then if they don’t work out, then you have to be sensible and sign for a team to be ready for the start of the season.” (via Swindon Advertiser)

Swindon finished last season in 12th but had some really strong performances under Ian Holloway, who will be looking to take the team further up the table. Should a player like Tabor be able to make the step up, he could provide an unknown x-factor to help the team approach a promotion run.

Bromley finished one place above Swindon, but could lose non-league legend and top scorer, Michael Cheek, to opposition in a higher division. They will be hoping they can convince Tabor to join them, and in-turn make him into Cheek’s heir.
