Premier League Striker Set To Sign For Walsall

It’s a Bournemouth striker for Walsall, by the name of Jonny Stuttle. This is a player for fans to be excited about. He’s known as hard-working and as a typical definition of an ‘old school number nine’. The striker looks set for his first full-time contract in professional football, with the West Midlands side.

This is according to a report by journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Rebuild For Walsall?

Walsall will be looking to rebuild, after their disappointing end to the 2024/25 season, losing out on promotion, despite having a 14 point lead at one point. They’ll also be looking to replace Nathan Lowe, who was on loan from Stoke City, who has now returned to his parent club.

They’ll arguably looking for a more dominant number nine, with their next striker, Jamille Matt, scoring just 12 goals in 53 games, with an average rating of 6.7. Jonny Stuttle could definitely be an answer to that question, with his form at a range of clubs.

Walsall fans can gauge more of an idea about Stuttle in an interview conducted below.

Could He Be The Missing Piece For Promotion?

His career so far is definitely impressive, and will be well-known for a lot of lower league fans. Walsall seem to have won a very competitive battle for the Cherries development squad Top scorer in the 23/24 season.

Jonny spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan to local Farnborough FC, members of the National League South. He scored 10 goals in 25 games, with the fellow Hampshire side, with a 0.53 goals-per-90 completed ratio. He very much became the golden boy of the Boro fans, even having a chant about him made, after just a few months!

You can see one of his goals below.

Obviously, as mentioned above, he also has some impressive stats for Bournemouth’s development squad. He first joined Bournemouth’s academy aged 11, before going on to progress to the development squad.

The striker scored a hattrick at St James’ Park in the FA Youth Cup for the Cherries’ U18 side. He then went onto finish the 2023/24 season with 4 goals and 3 assists in just 13 appearances.

He will arguably be the ‘star of the show’ as Walsall look forward to starting their EFL League Two campaign, beginning with a home tie against Swindon Town.
