What Does Jake Tabor Bring To Swindon Town?

Swindon Town have officially confirmed the signing of non-league ace Jake Tabor, who signs his first professional deal at the Nigel Eady County Ground.

It’s a deal that certainly looks to be a rouge but strong piece of business for Swindon, however.

Tabor absolutely shone in the non-league pyramid across spells with Amersham Town, Rayners Lane and Harpenden, completing his first professional move after notching 127 times in just 91 appearances.

It’s quite the step up for the 22-year-old, but what can he bring to Swindon?

Attacking Play

Tabor certainly seems to be the real deal in attack. With his magnificent goal record, it shows that maybe a move to the professional game at this stage is the right one. Playing against EFL defenders isn’t going to be easy, though.

However, the 22-year-old starlet is the complete package as a goalscorer. He’s a physical forward who likes to hustle defenders, Tabor also carries pace which helps him catch out back lines with his excellent knowledge of getting in behind and ultimately being one the main reasons he has scored so many goals in the Non-Leauge pyramid over recent years.

Tabor also carries other technical skills, as his wonderful off the ball positioning allows him to be ready at all times, alongside his ability to simply just score goals. It’s not about the flashy skills for the 22-year-old.

All he wants to do is bag a goal, which could be a big boost for Swindon as they begin to prepare for an exciting campaign, and with all the attributes in his locker to go on and achieve big things, Tabor could be a massive part of Swindon’s side over the next few years…

Goals, And Lots Of Them Too!

It seems as if with his successful goal records, the 22-year-old attacker will bring many goals along with him to Swindon.

That could be a big boost, as having natural goal scorers within your side at the League Two level is vital for any kind of promotion hopes.

Tabor may struggle to start, but once he is used to the EFL environment it could mean he suddenly fires goals in for STFC week after week. Would that be what Swindon need? Yes, definetely.

Ian Holloway’s side are in need of some cutting edge as Botan Ameen forces an exit away, as per a report from Pete O’Rourke, plus age concerns of Harry Smith and Aaron Drinan start to creep in. It’s a brilliant pick from Swindon as they look to really kick on next season.

However, despite it seemingly being the golden transfer that could help bring success to the Nigel Eady County Ground, will the bold signing of a non-League talent truly pay-off in the Football League?
