Lincoln City Midfielder Targeted by Championship Side

Lincoln City midfielder Ethan Erhahon has most recently been targeted by Wigan Athletic and Swansea City who have put offers on the table. However, Bolton Wanderers and Oxford United have also had interest in the midfielder. The 24-year-old has had experience in the third tier with Lincoln City previously.

This article comes following a report from Ben Jacobs on X.

A Pivotal Season For Both Sides

Wigan Athletic and Swansea City will be looking to improve on their 15th and 11th place finish last season during the upcoming season.

So far, both sides have arguably gone about this in the right direction. This is due to their quality signings so far. For Wigan, this includes names such as Paul Mullin and Callum Wright. Additionally, for Swansea, it includes Ricardo Santos and Ethan Galbraith.

Following these signings, the Latics and the Swans have been predicted by betting agencies to have an improved finish in the upcoming season.

The Good Qualities Of Ethan Erhahon

Even with the midfielder only managing to start 28 times last season, we can take his statistics from this time to display some of Ethan Erhahon’s positive aspects.

The first of these is his passing accuracy. This is due to the fact that the Scotsman had an 83.2% passing accuracy last campaign.

Furthermore, he was also able to have a 65.2% successful dribble rate.

This shows he is able to push his side up the field to create attacking opportunities.

Furthermore, his experience is another excellent quality- especially in EFL League One.

During his career, he has played multiple seasons in the Scottish Championship/Premiership and completed three seasons at League One side Lincoln City.

However, more crucially, he was a part of St. Mirren’s 2017-18 title-winning Scottish Championship Campaign.

This is experience that arguably will help both sides during their pursuit of a better finish in the EFL League One and Championship next campaign.

Is Signing Erhahon A Good Idea?

The signing of Ethan Erhahon from Lincoln City is, for the large part positive.

This is due to his dominance in midfield and the experience that he holds.

However, with a limited involvement last season and not having Championship experience, some may question whether he can make the step up to Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, who are looking to push for promotion.

However, what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
