According to Pete O’Rourke on X, League One side Lincoln City are set to bring in two new additions before the deadline day door slams to a close, Ipswich Town’s young midfielder Finlay Barbrook has signed on loan for the season, with former Sheffield Wednesday and Wycombe Wanderers winger Adam Reach on a free transfer.
Adam Reach will join up with The Imps after spending most of pre-season and the opening fixtures training with the PFA training camp, and he will join the Imps on a free transfer adding some extra depth to their wing-back and wings (he can comfortably slot into either), despite Lincoln already bringing in young winger Oscar Thorn from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee. He also comes with a plethora of experience from higher divisions, as the 32-year-old spent five years with Sheffield Wednesday, playing 230 times for The Owls, as well as a three-year spell at West Brom which was hampered heavily by injury.
He was most recently at Wycombe Wanderers, where he operated more as a Left-back in contrast to the left-wing where he featured more as during his tenure in the Championship.
One Already Through The Door At Lincoln City
The Imps have already made a signing today in Finley Barbrook, joining on loan from Championship side Ipswich Town, where he’s featured a couple of times in the Tractor Boys’ matchday squad but remained an unused substitute, although he did start in their shock defeat to Bromley on penalties, before being substituted in the 70th minute for Jack Taylor.
He’s been given these opportunities thanks to back-to-back impressive loan spells in non-league football, the first in the 2023/24 season with Chelmsford City in the National League South, and the second coming last campaign with Sutton United one step higher in the National League, featuring on 43 occasions and being one of the most consistent performance for them, despite his young age.
