Today Bradford Park Avenue have announced former Bradford City player Luke Hendrie on a deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old, who is predominantly a right back but can play other positions along the back line, signed for Morecambe in the 24/25 season after his loan spell at Hartlepool United concluded.
Last season, he managed to pick up 5 assists in 40 appearances, and he contributed to 7 clean sheets in a struggling Morecambe side who were eventually relegated.
Before Luke Hendrie departed Morecambe, he picked up two appearances. This was after Morecambe was suspended from the National League due to unpaid wages and a collapsed takeover. However, now Morecambe are looking to improve under new owners Panjab Warriors and new boss Ashvir Johal, but in order to do this, they have had to part ways with players to bring in improved ones.
What Does He Bring To Bradford?
The right-sided defender will bring plenty of experience to Bradford Park Avenue with the defender completed a stint in the National League at Hartlepool and made 23 appearances.
He will also bring plenty of League Two experience with the Englishman completing stints at Morecambe, Bradford City, Hartlepool United, Grimsby Town, and York City.
Additionally, the former Bradford man will add versatility to Bradford Park Avenue because, on previous occasions at multiple clubs, the defender has filled in at the heart of the defence and at right wing back when under managers who prefer to go more attacking.
A Good Signing?
This signing for Bradford Park Avenue is on the surface of excellent as the defender brings solidity, versatility, and most importantly experience to the back line. However, can Craig Elliot keep the 31year old fit and find his best position? Let us know in the comments below.
