In 13th place, Peterborough United have an average attendance of 9.076 with Posh’s highest attendance falling against Luton Town in August when 10,827 fans packed into the Weston Homes Stadium.
Meanwhile, Doncaster Rovers rank 12th highest in average attendance with an average of 9,284 with their lowest attendance coming against Bradford City in the Vertu Trophy when 2,085 fans attended whilst Doncaster’s highest attendance came against Rotherham United when 11,457 fans packed the Eco-Power Stadium.
To end, just missing out on the top ten, Stockport County have an average attendance of 9,630 with the Hatters’ highest figure coming against Bolton Wanderers as 10,172 fans attended the derby between the two sides.
10th: Wigan Athletic
Wigan Athletic rank tenth on the list of average attendance with an attendance of 9,717 on average.
Athletic’s highest attendance fell against Stockport County with the attendance for that specific match reported as 11,078.
9th: Blackpool
Blackpool currently sit 21st in the League One table but sit significantly higher in ninth on the average attendance list with an average of 10,026.
The Tangerines’ lowest attendance came against Barrow with an attendance of 1,087 whilst the outfit’s highest attendance fell against Bolton Wanderers when 11,579 packed into Bloomfield Road.
8th: Luton Town
Sitting one place higher on the average attendances list than their actual league position, Luton Town rank eighth on the list with an an average attendance of 11,414 fans per match.
The side’s highest attendance came against Plymouth Argyle with 11,801 fans attended – slightly more than the 11,784 fans that attended Luton’s encounter against Mansfield Town.
7th: Reading
Reading sit seventh in the average attendances list with an average figure of 11,783.
The Royals are the second side to have an average attendance higher than the league average following in the footsteps of Luton Town.
Furthermore, the side’s highest attendance fell against AFC Wimbledon in League One when 13,757 fans were in attendance.
6th: Barnsley
Playing at Oakwell, Barnsley‘s average attendance of 12,561 places the Tykes at sixth in the list.
The side’s lowest attendance came against Lincoln City in the Vertu Trophy where 1,202 fans were in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Tykes’ highest attendance came in the side’s fixture with Huddersfield Town where 15,783 fans attended.
5th: Plymouth Argyle
In the middle of the list, Plymouth Argyle have an average attendance of 15,888 – more than two thousand fans more per match on average than Barnsley.
Argyle’s highest attendance came against Barnsley on the opening day of the season with 16.483 fans in attendance for both sides.
4th: Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town sit tenth in League One currently but, on the average attendance list, the Terriers sit fourth with an average figure of 17,146 fans per match thus far.
Huddersfield’s lowest attendance came against Mansfield Town in the Vertu Trophy with just 973 fans in attendance while the side’s highest attendance fell against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup when 22,052 people attended.
3rd: Cardiff City
Fourth in the league, but third on the list, Cardiff City have an average attendance of 19,403 so far this campaign.
The Bluebirds’ highest attendance was against Bradford City with 22,132 fans attending collectively from both sides.
2nd: Bradford City
Second in the league, second on the average attendance list.
Bradford City, in their first season in the third tier since 2019, have an average attendance of 20,880.
The Bantams’ highest attendance came against local rivals Huddersfield Town when 24,075 fans attended the encounter at the University of Bradford Stadium.
1st: Bolton Wanderers
At the summit of the list sits Bolton Wanderers who have an average attendance of 21,430 thus far this season.
Wanderers’ highest attendance was against local rivals Wigan Athletic in League One in a fixture that saw 25,565 fans in attendance.
