Revealed: The Fee Bristol City Will Receive if Bournemouth Sell Antoine Semenyo

Former Bristol City winger Antoine Semenyo looks destined for a move away from AFC Bournemouth this January.

The Cherries, who sit in the top half of the Premier League, may be ‘powerless’ in stopping him from leaving in the next transfer window.

Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam confirmed that Championship club Bristol City have a 20% sell-on from any profit made on Antoine Semenyo, after his £65m release clause was revealed by The Athletic.

So, how much will Bristol City make if this transfer happens?

How Much Do The Robins Make?

Semenyo joined Bournemouth in January 2023 for a fee of around £10m.

The Ghanaian is contracted to the club until the summer of 2030, after signing a new deal in July 2025.

But, a condition in his contract means the Cherries must accept offers that meet a release clause fee of £60m + 5m in add-ons.

This clause activates in January, but is only available for the first 2 weeks of the window to allow Bournemouth to sign a replacement if the 25-year-old leaves.

The release clause decreases in price in the summer transfer window of 2026, but it is not yet clear what it will drop to.

If Antoine Semenyo is sold in January, Bristol City will receive up to £11m after add-ons.

The Robins will be hoping he is sold at this time, to take the maximum they can from the deal – a fantastic £21m in total (on top of the original sale in 2023).

Semenyo scored 21 goals in 125 games for Bristol City, but has really kicked on down on the south coast.

The powerful winger has been in fantastic form in the Premier League this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in just 11 appearances for Andoni Iraola’s side.

Semenyo looks destined to play for a world-renowned club and win trophies at the very top of the game.

Another star has been unearthed, who was made in the EFL.
