Are Bromley Destined For Promotion This Season?

Bromley are currently in a promotion spot. After missing out last season.

Last campaign, Bromley seemed destined for a playoff spot. On the 3rd of May, the South London-based side found themselves only four points off a playoff spot.

Surprisingly, after they were only promoted to League Two, following their promotion and third place finish within the National League in the previous season.

Following the stories of them narrowly missing out on a promotion chance last campaign, furthermore, the Ravens are impressing again this season and making headlines.

Due to them being in the mix for promotion amongst a number of promotion favourites at the start of the season.

Therefore, this campaign, Bromley have taken crucial points from supposed promotion favourites in games against MK Dons, Crewe, Chesterfield, Gillingham and Notts County, with the sides currently positioned in a promotion spot or just outside of one.

When looking at the teams that Bromley have lost to so far this season, it becomes more interesting.

Meanwhile, with them being narrowly defeated by Oldham Athletic, Swindon Town, Cambridge and Bristol Rovers, who are mostly positioned in the bottom half and middle of the table, with the exception of Swindon.

What Do The Statistics Say About Bromley?

According to the statistics, Andy Woodman’s men are strong in an attacking sense and a defensive sense; furthermore, they rank high in the goals scored and conceded table.

When having a closer insight, the Ravens, currently scored 8 goals in their last 5 matches, as well as this, they sit 7th in the goals per match ranking with a 1.60 rating and 25 goals scored so far this season.

In a defensive sense, Woodman’s side have kept 5 clean sheets out of their 16 matches in League Two this season, which puts them 4th in the clean sheet ranking.

Overall, Bromley have conceded 19 goals, which places them 9th in that ranking.

In regard to possession, their average is 44.8% which positions them in 20th, which is the bottom half of that ranking.

So, it seems that they are being successful even with a low possession ranking.

Current Form And Fixture Watch

The London-based outfit, before the 25/26 season, had the potential to be in the area of promotion spots.

It currently looks like they are on track due to them positioning 5th on 27 points. Also, the Ravens won their last three matches within the league.

On the downside, the side does have some arguably tough games coming up. In their next two matches, Woodman’s side play Salford and Walsall, who are both in and around the top of the table.

However, this may not be a problem for Bromley, due to them picking up vital points against these types of sides as previously mentioned.

Following this, the side has a couple of winnable games against Crawley Town and Accrington Stanley, who are currently position 20th and 18th in the league.

Potential Of Promotion

Therefore, will Bromley go up this season? At this time, it is hard to say as there is still a big chunk of the season left to play. Consistency will be key for Andy Woodman’s men.

When looking at the current top seven, there is a narrow gap between each side, and with all sides displaying brilliant performances so far, there is potential that promotion could go either way, with it being that tight.

However, if Bromley carry on picking up points against top of the table sides, they could potentially be in with a chance of promotion.
