Bradford City In Battle With League One Side For Exeter Frontman

Exeter City could be set to lose their top goalscorer as relegation could be on the cards.

The Grecians have found themselves in free-fall after a positive start to 2026 in the league. Despite this, there has been one player who has been maintaining his form throughout the season.

Jayden Wareham’s 18 goals for the season sees himself third in the League One goalscoring charts which has raised a few eyebrows for teams towards the top.

Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers have been said to be interested in the 22-year-old attacker, according to Football League World.

Currently sat third and fourth respectively, both teams are on the verge of sealing a play-off spot to hopefully gain promotion to the second tier.

Both are looking to add goals into their game, with Bradford’s Bobby Pointon and Antoni Sarcevic having ten goals each as the clubs’ highest scorers, whereas Mason Burstow’s eleven is the highest for the Wanderers.

Recently, Wareham’s importance to the Devonshire side has been apparent, netting twice in their 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers – their first league win since January.

Bolton have seen with their own eyes too, with Jayden Wareham scoring a 67th minute goal in their 5-1 humbling defeat to the Whites.

Jayden Wareham also poses with one of the best goals to minutes played ratios in the division. City’s number nine scoring a goal every 178 minutes.

Exeter City host Bradford City on the final day, with the growing increase of interest in the young striker, this match could be the last for Wareham wearing the red and white stripes of Exeter and potentially swapping to the claret and amber of Bradford.

Only a handful of matches are left in the League One season with Exeter’s survival in the balance, could survival be a perfect leaving gift from their top scorer?
