Bradford City will be aiming to go a step further in the upcoming 2026/27 League One season as the outfit looks to launch a potential bid for promotion again.
The Bantams, finished last season in fourth position, lost 2-0 on aggregate to Bolton Wanderers in the playoffs, with only having 2 shots on target in total over the two legs.
Meanwhile, the outfit only scored 58 times last season, whilst also conceding 51 goals, which meant they finished the campaign on a goal difference of +7.
With this in mind, City could look to recruit more than one striker in this summer transfer window to help offer an option and an attacking spark to the squad as Paul Mullin and Ethan Wheatley returned to their parent clubs.
Now the Bantams are exploring a new move for Burton Albion striker Jake Beesley, according to Alan Nixon on his Patreon account.
The 29-year-old featured 45 times for Burton Albion last season in League One, whilst netting 13 goals and picking up seven assists in the league.
For Beesley, a move to Bradford could offer better terms to the former Blackpool striker, which he is reportedly keen on. As well as this, he can compete with other strikers and improve Bradford’s goal-scoring figures.
It could be argued that the quality of Beesley in a lower table League One side, the former Rochdale man moving to West Yorkshire, could be potentially the right move for both sides.
If he can hit the same form that he displayed last season and the form that he played with at Blackpool in League One within the 2023/24 season (where he scored 12 goals in 37 appearances), the 29-year-old could bring success to Bradford.
Whilst the Bantams are trying to get the addition over the line, Bradford City supporters who hold interest could look to see how he could benefit the squad in the short term and long term.
However, with the striker having 12 months left on his contract and an option of a further year, it would require the Bantams to pay a fee.
