Debutant Jack Moylan scored a stunning hat-trick as the Republic of Ireland produced a ruthless display to beat Grenada 5-0 in a friendly at Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia.
Moylan, who helped Lincoln City earn promotion to the Championship, showed early intent in the Spanish sunshine.
He flashed a low effort wide inside six minutes and later forced Trishawn Thomas into a smart save from close range.
His first international goal came just after the hour mark, latching onto a header forward from Dara O’Shea before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.
The Lincoln midfielder doubled his tally on 80 minutes, curling home after being slipped through by Moran, before completing a memorable hat-trick just four minutes later nodding in from a cross delivered by Millenic Alli.
Moylan played the full 90 minutes and capped off his dream debut by being named Player of the Match, taking home the match ball to mark his hat-trick.
The 24-year-old’s performance caps a remarkable season under Michael Skubala, having registered 11 goals and 6 assists, finishing as joint top scorer alongside Reeco Hackett.
Lincoln’s campaign has been equally impressive, with the Imps clinching the League One title with 103 points and extending their unbeaten run to 29 matches, their last defeat coming away at Wycombe Wanderers in November.
With promotion secured, Lincoln now prepare for the Championship, where they are set to face clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley, as well as potentially one of Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United.
Off the pitch, stability remains strong, with only Jamie Pardington and MJ Kamara offered new deals while the rest of the squad had already committed earlier in the season.
For Jack Moylan, it marks a perfect introduction to international football delivering a clinical and composed display to underline his growing reputation.
