Crewe Alexandra assistant boss Ryan Dicker his called on his side to keep their current home form going and to start doing it on the road too.
Crewe Alexandra assistant boss Ryan Dicker has called on his players to keep their unbeaten run going, according to BBC Sport.
Crewe were ‘well off it’ for the first 20 minutes of the game on Tuesday evening against Barnet, a game which the Alex would draw 1-1.
Lee Bells side sit in 10th place in League Two but are just five points behind seventh placed Walsall.
Kabongo Tshimanga opened up the scoring early on for Barnet before the Alex changed to a back three half way through the first half.
A decision that would make the Railwaymen much more comfortable in the match. Owen Lunt hit a well-worked equaliser just after the half hour mark.
Crewe have been brilliant at the Mornflake Stadium, picking up eight win from fifteen home games this season, they are unbeaten in nine at home.
Wins against Colchester United, Cheltenham Town and Tranmere Rovers have all helped to elevate Crewe Alexandra.
“Momentum’s important and that’s two difficult away trips now and we’ve picked up points in both of them,” he said.
“And in between that we’ve sandwiched in three points at home against Colchester, so we’ve got to make sure we keep picking up points on the road if we want to be in amongst it in the next few weeks.”
“It’s got to give them some confidence, not that they were short of it, but it’s got to give them that bit of extra belief – knowing that if we turn up and we perform and we stay in games we can pick points up,” he said.
“If we can do that away from home and make sure we continue with our home record [nine league games unbeaten] we should have a good end to the season.”
Up next for the Alex is a trip to Crawley Town before hosting Gillingham.
