Lincoln City have managed to complete all of the formalities in regards to the acquisition of Adam Reach, who has made the move to The Imps on a free transfer after release from his previous club this summer.
Reach, 32, has joined a Lincoln side who are incredibly lacking on the left side of their defensive unit, making this move a massive step forwards for an Imps side who haven’t started half-bad this campaign.
Reach has enjoyed a solid career to date, registering a total of over 450 professional appearances, which will see him bring not only a high level of footballing quality but a massive degree of experience into the Lincoln side.
What Will Reach Bring To Lincoln City?
What does stand out about Reach as a player is that he is an incredibly solid player defensively with a good percentage of arial duels and challenges won. Lincoln are known to struggle with conceding goals, which has proved with six already against them in just six games!
As Lincoln finally look to end the run of seasons finishing close to the play-offs but falling eventually short, having a stronger, experienced and capable back-line will be crucial in how their season goes. Adding to the defensive unit and bringing in someone like Reach, who on paper looks a very promising addition, will hopefully be a step in a forward direction
Being 32, Reach may not be the fittest or the quickest, however the level of footballing pedigree as an all-round player alongside his qualities off the park shows this as a fantastic piece of business in the long-run for Lincoln.
The Imps have certainly worked hard to complete moves this window with plenty of arrivals, but to sign someone of Reach’s quality on a free transfer over other destinations is a massive success for all at the club.
However, what are your thoughts on this move? Will Reach perform to the standards expected of him upon arrival at Lincoln City? Let us know your takes in the comments below!
