Eric Ramsay

As of Thursday 8th January, it has come to light that West Brom will be appointing Minnesota United’s manager, Eric Ramsay. This was previously covered in this article.

Now thanks to local journalist Lewis Cox, it is seemingly certain that The Baggies have got their man.

So, who’s expected to join Eric Ramsay into his new ventures, and try and get this once great Albion side back to former glory?

West Bromwich Albion: Potential New Backroom Staff

Dennis Lawrence

Big Dennis Lawrence brings a pedigree of firmly rooted top-level football and supreme professionalism.

As a player, Lawrence was a strong central defender, most notably for Wigan Athletic. Here he became a Premier League regular during their rise through the lower tiers to the top.

He also represented Bolton Wanderers and Rangers of the SPFL. Through these spells, he gained experience across different tactical environments.

Internationally, Lawrence captained Trinidad and Tobago, earning over 80 caps and leading the nation during the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

This achievement cemented his reputation as a leader under immense pressure, making him a perfect candidate.

Following retirement, Lawrence smoothly transferred to coaching.

He worked within the Tics academy and later joined Everton as part of their first team coaching staff.

Lawrence specialized in defensive organization and unit structure. His coaching is defined by clarity and accountability with tactical discipline too.

At the Baggies, he will be expected to tighten the standards of the defence, improve concentration and mentor defenders.

Hence why he’d be a great fit, after a poor defensive showing of lately from the boys in blue and white.

Andy Morrison

Morrison’s return to West Bromwich Albion carries both emotional and footballing significance.

As a player, Morrison was also a no nonsense centre back. With a career built on resilience and leadership rather than flair.

He captained Manchester City during a turbulent period in the club’s history.

He also represented Huddersfield Town and Coventry City, building a reputation as a relentless competitor.

After retirement, Morrison established himself as a respected coach, holding riles and Plymouth and Cardiff. Here he often focused on defensive coaching and player mentality.

Morrison would bring cultural authority, intensity and proper defending, all of which the struggling Baggies are in desperate need of.

These aren’t all confirmed yet, but are definitely the representatives Ramsay would bring with him, to his new role.
