Despite Philippe Clement’s critiques of the tight schedule, with the international break coming before a round of Good Friday fixtures, these players deserve their call-ups and will be eager to impress on the world stage.
Possibly the most expected of Norwich City International Call-Ups after scoring from the half-way line to seal Scotland’s world cup qualification. The 33-year old has retained his place in the Scotland squad, and will set his sights on imposing himself firmly into Steve Clarke’s world cup plans.
With over 50 international caps to his name, the 33 year-old will hope that he can carry his excellent recent domestic form into Scotland’s upcoming fixtures against Japan and Ivory Coast.
Despite being exiled by Liam Manning and being heavily rumoured with a move away from East Anglia, Slimane has found himself at the forefront of Norwich’s Clement inspired revival.
He was ruled out of the African Cup of Nations through injury, but will be looking to perform in his return to the squad. He may well line-up against fellow Canary Ali Ahmed when Tunisia take on Canada.
The left-winger has impressed at Norwich, since his January arrival from Vancouver Whitecaps. He was a frequent inclusion in the Canada squad during his time in the MLS, and his successful transition to the English leagues will have done him no harm in his quest to continue this trend.
He will face up against Iceland and Tunisia as the co-hosts look to step up their preparations ahead of the World Cup.
Another player that has been transformed since the change of management at Norwich is the 20 year-old Northern Ireland International. He has now become a key player in NR1 and will want to add to his seven appearances for the Northern Ireland senior team during the break.
Northern Ireland must beat both Italy and then the winner of Wales vs Bosnia and Herzegovina if they are to qualify for the World Cup, meaning McConville will be the Canary playing with the most on line.
The Panamanian has been one of Norwich’s best players in recent months, and is also an important feature of his national team, who have already secured qualification for the World Cup.
He has been capped twenty-six times and will line-up against South Africa twice over the course of this international break.

Although he is yet to feature for Norwich under Philipe Clement, Mules is clearly a talent that Norwich City fans have every right to be excited for. He has netted five times and assisted twice in eleven appearances for Norwich Under 21s, and surely another chance in the first team will follow soon.
At only 19, he has represented age-group teams for both Wales and England, and is under contract at Norwich until 2028.
This is Mundle-Smith’s first international call up for any age group and is just reward for his recent involvement with the Norwich City first-team. He is yet to start or score for the Yellows, but has impressed when given his chance due to the sheer number of injuries suffered by Norwich, especially in forward areas.
He was playing for Croydon FC, who are currently in the Southern Counties East Division One, as recently as 2023, and this call-up highlights both the talent and potential he possesses.
