London rivals Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic are reportedly interested in Brighton & Hove Albion defender Odeluga Offiah.
It is said that Brighton would be open to let the 22-year-old leave the club on a permanent basis, with the Championship his most likely destination.
After graduating from Brighton’s academy, the player made his senior debut in 2021.
Since then, Offiah has spent time in Scotland with Hearts, making nine appearances in a short loan spell in late 2023.
Despite making four appearances in the Premier League in 2023-24, it is in 2024-25, whilst out on loan at Steve Bruce’s Blackpool, where Offiah has begun to break out in senior football.
In League One, the now 22-year-old made 40 appearances, netting one goal and getting one assist.
A big part of the Camden-born player’s success in the past year has been down to his versatility. Whilst his primary position is at right-back, the youngster can play in central defence, winning over 50% of his aerial duels per 90.
It is said that at 22, Offiah is keen on the prospect of playing consistent first team football, something that is said to not be on offer at Brighton.
Charlton Boss Nathan Jones is reportedly a big fan of the player, having seen him first hand when his side played Blackpool last season. Jones will be hoping he can lure the defender back home to London.
QPR, whilst managerless, are hoping to strengthen even without someone at the helm and Offiah is high on their list of transfer candidates.
For Offiah, he has big decision on his hands. The player has 12 months left on his current deal; does he attempt to break through at Brighton? Or take a step down and prove his worth at Championship level after impressing in League One?
