Peterborough United are known for developing players onto brighter futures after signing them.
This years World Cup is a great example of that and here’s all the current and former Posh players who may feature.
The only current Posh player that is likely to feature at this years FIFA World Cup is Matthew Garbett.
Garbett signed from Eredivisie side NAC Breda in August last year and he has not disappointed. The Attacking midfielder/Right Winger has an abundance of talent which is clear to see.
Garbett can change the game in a blink of an eye like he has on numerous occasions this season. His ability to cause issues from wide and his capability to shoot from range has you poised every time he gets on the ball.

The Kiwi has three goals and a lone assist to his name so far this season however he has been out injured since the 7th February. That foot injury has kept Garbett ruled out for an extensive period and has missed The All Whites latest international camp.
However, he should be back before the end of the season meaning this will also be a landmark moment for Posh as Garbett will become the first ever current Peterborough United player to play at a FIFA World Cup.
Garbett could also play against England in a warm up friendly before he takes on a group Belgium, Iran and Egypt.
From the southern hemisphere to Scotland Jack Hendry is the first former Posh player who is likely to feature.
Many Posh fans may never have known that Hendry played for Posh however, the 30-year-old represented Posh at U18 level before joining Dundee United in 2013.
The 30-year-old centre back has had a travelled career from MK Dons to Cremonese to Al Ettifaq. Hendry currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq coming up against the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Jack was called up to the latest Scotland squad and played in their 1-0 defeat to Japan.
From the cold Scottish highlands to warm Qatari desert as Niall Mason is the next former Posh player who could play at this years World Cup.
Mason was a promotion winner with Posh in 2020/21 and was an impact player in the 19/20 super team. Many Posh fans may have forgotten his name however, he has been on the move in Qatar.
Since being released by Posh, Mason moved to Qatar playing for Al-Shahaniya, Muaither SC and Qatar SC. Mason was given his first international call up by Julen Lopetegui however, he’s yet to be capped due to both friendlies being cancelled.
Mason’s debut could up against Ireland in a warm up friendly before being placed into a group of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada and Switzerland.
The former Posh loanee has broke back into the England setup under Thomas Tuchel and scored versus Uruguay last Friday. White joined Posh in January 2019 and was clear to see the abundance of talent he had.
The Arsenal man has come back into the England setup for the first time since 2022 and has a very good chance of being selected for the World Cup squad. White scored one goal for Posh whilst on loan in a 2-0 win over Southend at London Road.
It is very possible that White will join the likes of David Seamen and Ivan Toney being the only former Posh players to play for England at a Major finals.
Speaking of him, we might as well mention Ivan Toney. It is quite unlikely that Toney will be picked for England but there is a small chance he could.
Toney’s Posh legacy can never be questioned notching 49 goals in 94 games for the club and being sold for a record 10 Million Pounds to Brentford. Toney already made history by joining Seamen as the next former Posh player to represent England in a major finals.
The 30-year-old is currently tearing up the Saudi Pro League with 30 goal contributions already this season however, he has been overlooked for England.
