EXCLUSIVE: Watford Interested In Move For Jayden Wareham

The Lower Tiers understands that Watford are interested in a move for Exeter City forward Jayden Wareham, who has been linked with moves to both Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers in recent days by Football League World.

The Hornets have struggled at times throughout the season to score, especially at Vicarage Road and have fell to 15 draws in 41 games – the joint most in the league.

Top scorer Luca Kjerrumgaard has scored just nine in 39 this season, eleven behind the league’s top scorer Zan Vipotnik which indicates the lack of a lethal finisher in the side.

Ed Still hasn’t set the world alight since taking over from Paulo Pezzolano in February, with three wins, four draws and ultimately suffered three defeats, but could have been more successful with a prolific goal scorer.

Wareham’s Success

Jayden Wareham has been extremely successful in a difficult season in League One for Exeter scoring 18 goals despite being sat in the relegation zone and is the league’s third top scorer.

If The Grecians were to be relegated to League Two then it is likely that the 22-year-old would leave St James Park in the summer, but is probable he would leave regardless to the Championship.

However, Watford aren’t alone in showing interest in the young striker – Bolton and Bradford are also interested in the Exeter forward which could make a deal tricky, especially if they get promoted to the second tier.

Despite the interest from these clubs, Watford will have the upper hand if the decision falls down to the young forward as they are an established Championship club with high aims.

If the Hornets were able to complete the signing of the English forward then they may be able to push for the playoffs next season.
