Barnsley and Bolton Wanderers are two of the sides aiming for success in the closing stages of the League One season.
The sides, who currently both sit inside the top 15, had been tipped for promotion before the season started last summer.
Bolton appear to have delivered on this expectation, with Steven Schumacher’s side sitting in third heading into the final two months of the season.
However, Conor Hourihane’s side have struggled this season although are still only seven points off sixth placed Huddersfield Town as League One approaches its climax.
The results of the closing stages of the season could dictate how each sides looks towards the summer transfer window.
Now, Pete O’Rourke has reported that both Bolton Wanderers and Barnsley, alongside other outfits such as Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle, are tracking Bromley defender Omar Sowunmi.
The defender has featured thirty times for the Ravens, scoring six times and providing one assist as Andy Woodman’s side have looked to secure promotion.
Furthermore, the 30-year-old has won 31 tackles whilst also winning 67.9% of his ground duels.
From an attacking standpoint, Sowunmi has had 21 shots on target and has created 12 chances whilst also having 110 touches in opposition boxes.
Barnsley have struggled defensively this season with the Tykes conceding 56 goals, cancelling out the 56 goals that the Yorkshire outfit have scored in their 34 fixtures thus far.
On the contrary, Bolton have showed defensive solidity with Schumacher’s side conceding just 36 times.
However, the outfit have conceded seven times in their last five outings, arguably creating a reason for the Whites to look towards the defensive market ahead of the summer window.
Signing Omar Sowunmi could help either side to improve defensively ahead of the start of the new season later this season.
But, with competition from several clubs including Plymouth Argyle, both sides may have to fight if they are to secure the services of the 30-year-old.
