Birmingham City forward Marvin Ducksch has been linked with a potential departure from St Andrew’s this summer.
With just eight fixtures of the season remaining, rumours have been circling about the German’s future.
The Birmingham star is attracting interest from Real Sociedad and AEK Athens ahead of the summer transfer window, according to German media.
German outlet Bild reports that both Real Sociedad and AEK Athens are monitoring Ducksch’s situation in Spain and Greece.
Meanwhile, two Bundesliga clubs are believed to be interested in bringing the striker back to Germany, with teams from Major League Soccer also keeping tabs on him.
Birmingham drew 1–1 at St Andrew’s against Sheffield United over the weekend. Ducksch found the back of the net with a superb free kick, something he became well known for during his time in Germany.
Ducksch, 32, signed for the Blues last summer where he has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, registering 11 goals and two assists.
Before moving to England last summer, Ducksch built a reputation in Germany as a reliable goalscorer. The striker previously played for Borussia Dortmund, but it was at Werder Bremen and Hannover 96, where he earned praise for his finishing ability, link-up play and dangerous set-piece delivery.
Manager Chris Davies and the Birmingham owners may face a tough decision over Marvin Ducksch’s future who remains under contract until June 2028. At 32, the club could choose to cash in and look to bring in a younger replacement.
Despite that, the two-cap German international has been a valuable option for the Blues. His experience has shown throughout the season, and he has demonstrated his ability to consistently find the goal when others haven’t.
Ducksch’s experience, technical ability and threat from set pieces are thought to be key reasons behind the growing interest in his services. His profile as a proven goalscorer could appeal to clubs looking to add experience to their attacking options.
