Championship side Bristol City are preparing for life after former England manager Roy Hodgson. The 78-year-old former Crystal Palace man was never seen as a long-term solution for the Robins.
Hodgson took just seven games for the club, following the departure of Austrian Gerhard Struber, managing three wins and two draws in that time to help them to 12th place in the Championship.
The new man will be hoping to push them closer to the playoffs next season as they look to progress. Now the board are looking at potential candidates to take over the hot seat.
Now according to Pete O’Rourke, City are targeting fellow Championship man John Mousinho who is currently the main man at Portsmouth.
Pompey finished in 18th and spent much of the season looking over their shoulders at the drop zone, eventually beating it by seven points.
Mousinho did manage to win four of his final six games, which appears to be one of the things that caught the eye of the hierarchy at Ashton Gate as they look to enter talks with the 40-year-old.
The Ashton Gate outfit are also targeting League One champion Michael Skubala who has been with Lincoln City since 2023, this season going on an unprecedented 29-game winning streak that included beating the away record at the club managing 13 wins away from the LNER Stadium.
Skubala has brought his Futsal knowledge, alongside his time at Leeds United, where he was under-21 head coach for the Whites. He has also worked with the England U18 team.
The Imps finished the campaign as champions on 103 points and will be hoping Skubala will be the man to lead them into the Championship next season to continue the good work he’s started. Could the pull of the Robins be too much to resist though?
