Derby County Boss John Eustace – “We Are A Confident Bunch”

Derby County’s 5-0 thrashing of playoff chasing rivals Bristol City at Ashton Gate snatched the final playoff spot away from the hosts before Saturday’s Championship games.

Goals from Rhian Brewster, Ben Brereton Díaz, Bobby Clark and Patrick Aygemang, as well as substitute Lars-Jorgen Salvesen ended a five star display for the Rams, limiting the Robins to only one shot on target throughout the game.

Unbeaten In Four Games

This result also means Derby County are four games unbeaten with 3 wins and one draw.

After the match, Eustace said:

“we have had a good season up to now the group are really confident.

There are 16 games to go it doesn’t matter who we play home and away we want to be competitive.”

Next weekend’s opponents Ipswich Town currently occupy fourth position in the Championship table. In their last two games, Town have lost 3-1 to Sheffield United, before a 1-1 draw to Preston North End on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys will surely be looking to built momentum to keep up their promotion charge and look to get back to winning ways.

Eustace continued: “we know Ipswich are a top performing team, and it’s going to be a really difficult afternoon but one we are looking forward to.”

Derby County Need To Make Pride Park A Fortress

If Derby want to continue to push for playoffs, they will need to massively improve their home form.

The East Midlands club lie top of the table on away form also bolstering the highest away team goal difference with a +10 to their name.

The Rams have won eight, drawn three and lost only four away from Pride Park.

In contrast their home form finds them in 20th position with four wins, six draws and five losses with a measly -3 goal difference.
