Five Free Agents Bradford City Should Look Towards This Summer

Graham Alexander’s side, Bradford City, impressed last season, with the team managing to reach the League One playoffs.

However, the Bantams lost 2-0 to Bolton Wanderers in the semi-finals of the playoffs, meaning the club will remain in England’s third tier for next season.

With City still holding standout players that were an important factor last season, the club maybe looking to improve further whilst also looking to strengthen in this summer transfer window as they potentially look to go a step further next season.

This article lists free agents that Bradford City could potentially pursue in the summer transfer window.

Kyle Dempsey

During his time at Bolton Wanderers last campaign, Kyle Dempsey featured 29 times in League One, whilst picking up three goals and two assists.

Furthermore, the 30-year-old completed 408 successful passes and a 33.3% successful cross rate, whilst creating 29 chances.

As an attacking midfielder, the former Gillingham player could add depth to Alexander’s side as well as promotion experiences with him, gaining promotion to the EFL Championship in the 2025/26 season through the playoffs with Bolton Wanderers.

Meanwhile, the former Fleetwood Town man was released by Bolton at the end of the season, so the Bantams could pick up the attacking midfielder on a free transfer.

Ben Osborn

In his loan spell at Stockport County last campaign, reaching the League One playoffs, Ben Osborn featured 38 times for the Hatters in the league, whilst netting a single goal and picking up five assists.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old completed 1422 successful passes and a 38.2% accurate long ball rate, whilst also creating 65 chances.

As a left-sided midfielder, the former Derby County man could boost the amount of options for Alexander in that position as the Bantams arguably struggled for depth in that area last season.

Meanwhile, the former Sheffield United man was released by Derby County at the end of the season, arguably creating questions about his future, which could be at Bradford City.

Jordi Osei-Tutu

During his time at Bolton Wanderers last campaign, gaining promotion to the EFL Championship, Jordi Osei-Tutu featured 36 times for the Trotters in the league, whilst netting two goals and picking up two assists.

Additionally, the 27-year-old completed 181 defensive contributions in these encounters whilst completing 30 successful dribbles and holding a 23.9% successful cross rate.

As a right back, the former Nottingham Forest man could boost the amount of options to Alexander in that position with Harrison Ashby returning to Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, the former Bochum man was released by Bolton following the end of the season, so the Bantams could pick up the defender on a free transfer.

Luke Offord

In his time at MK Dons’ last campaign, gaining automatic promotion to League One, Luke Offord featured 41 times for the Dons in the league.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old has won 227 of his duels and has completed 385 defensive contributions in these encounters, whilst also boasting a successful dribble rate of 75%.

As a central defender, Offord could boost the amount of options and quality to the left side of Alexander’s defence.

Meanwhile, the former Crewe Alexandra man was released by MK Dons following the end of the season, so the Bantams could pick up the defender on a free transfer.

Callum Wright

Callum Wright, who was on loan at Wigan Athletic last season, featured 41 times and netted seven goals whilst picking up six assists.

Additionally, the 26-year-old completed 754 successful passes and a 21.7% successful cross rate, whilst creating 35 chances.

As an attacking midfielder, the former Plymouth Argyle man could add depth to Alexander’s side as well as promotion experiences with him, gaining automatic promotion to the EFL Championship in the 2022/23 season with the Pilgrims.

The former Blackpool man was released by Plymouth Argyle at the end of the season, arguably creating questions about his future, which could be at Bradford.
