Five Players Bradford City Could Sign To Replace Max Power

Graham Alexander’s side, Bradford City, impressed last season, with the team managing to reach the League One playoffs with Max Power arguably contributing to their success.

However, the Bantams lost 2-0 to Bolton Wanderers in the semi-finals of the playoffs, meaning the club will remain in England’s third tier for next season.

Now, Wigan Athletic, who finished 16th in League One last campaign, are lining up a move for Bradford City midfielder Max Power, according to Pete O’Rourke on his X account.

This article lists potential signings that Bradford City could pursue to replace Max Power this summer transfer window.

Ryan Wintle

During his time at Cardiff City last season, gaining automatic promotion to the EFL Championship, Ryan Wintle featured 40 times for the Bluebirds in the league, whilst picking up a single goal and seven assists.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old completed 2050 successful passes and 112 accurate long balls, whilst also completing 162 defensive contributions.

Meanwhile, the former Millwall man was released by Cardiff City following the end of the season, so the Bantams could pick up the defensive midfielder on a free transfer.

Jensen Weir

In his time at Wigan Athletic last campaign, Jensen Weir featured 37 times for the Latics in the league, whilst picking up two goals.

Furthermore, the 24-year-old completed 753 successful passes and a 60% successful dribble rate in these encounters, whilst also completing 45 accurate long balls.

Meanwhile, the former Port Vale man is in discussions with Wigan over a new contract, so Bradford City will need to arguably offer a better deal.

Archie Collins

Last campaign at Peterborough United, Archie Collins featured 45 times for the Posh in the league, whilst picking up two goals and seven assists.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old completed 1800 successful passes and a 42.5% accurate long ball rate in these encounters, whilst creating 35 chances.

Meanwhile, the former Exeter City man was released by Peterborough at the end of the season, arguably creating questions about his future, which could be at Bradford.

Billy Mitchell

During his time at Millwalll last season, reaching the EFL Championship playoffs, Billy Mitchell featured 29 times for the Lions in the league, whilst picking up a single assist.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old completed 859 successful passes and 88 accurate long balls, whilst also completing 141 defensive contributions.

Meanwhile, the defensive midfielder has reportedly rejected a new contract at Millwall, arguably creating questions about his future, which could be at Bradford.

Elliot Bonds

Last campaign, at Fleetwood Town, Elliot Bonds featured 42 times for the Fishermen in the league, whilst netting two goals and picking up three assists.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old completed 850 successful passes and 56 accurate long balls, whilst also completing 231 defensive contributions.

Meanwhile, the former Cheltenham Town man’s contract at Fleetwood lasts until the summer of 2027, so this move would require the Bantams to pay a small fee.
