Four Players That Could Leave Bradford City This Summer

Graham Alexander’s side, Bradford City, impressed last season reaching the League One playoffs.

However, as the summer transfer window is approaching, the outfit will be looking at departures before adding incomings, as the squad is currently at a large size due to them still holding standout players that were an important factor last campaign.

This article lists potential players who could depart Bradford City in the summer transfer window.

Players That Could Leave Bradford City This Summer

Tommy Leigh

During his time on loan at Bristol Rovers in the second half of last campaign, Tommy Leigh featured 14 times in League Two, whilst picking up four goals and two assists.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old only made 16 appearances for the Bantams in the first half of last season.

When looking at this, a potential move to the Gas or a League Two side would arguably be advantageous for both parties as it would create room for incomings and increased game time for the former Accrington Stanley man, who will want to be playing regularly.

Will Swan

Will Swan featured 29 times and scored six goals in League One last campaign for Bradford City, with the forward also assisting on two occasions as well.

Additionally, last season, Alexander’s side scored 58 goals, with only 16 of them being scored by strikers.

With this in mind, a move to a League Two side or a mid-table League One side has the potential to be advantageous for the striker due to increased game time.

Meanwhile, it can be beneficial for the Bantams as it would create room for a new striker who arguably has more of an attacking spark.

Stephen Humphrys

Stephen Humphrys featured 38 times and scored seven goals in League One last campaign for Bradford City, with the forward also assisting on three occasions as well.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old is arguably a left winger, which does not suit the 3-4-2-1 formation that Alexander’s side plays with.

When looking at this, a potential move to a League One side that plays with wingers would arguably be advantageous for both parties as it would create room for incomings and increased game time, as well as a better fit for the former Barnsley man, who will want to be playing regularly and on the left wing.

George Lapslie

Last season at Bradford City, George Lapslie featured 12 times for the Bantams in the league, whilst contributing to two assists.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old only made 13 appearances for Alexander’s side in the 2024/25 campaign, where he netted four goals and picked up a single assist.

Additionally, Bradford City’s midfield combined last season scored 23 goals and picked up 12 assists in the league.

When taking this into account, a move to a League Two side has the potential to be advantageous for the midfielder due to increased gametime.

Meanwhile, it can be beneficial for Alexander’s side as it would free up space for new incomings.
