Graham Alexander Provides Bradford City Injury Update Ahead Of Bolton Wanderers Home Clash

Bradford City are due to face Bolton Wanderers at home tomorrow in the second leg of the League One playoffs.

The Bantams and the Trotters, who were one division apart just last season, are now both competing for a trip to Wembley.

Therefore, with this in mind, the game at the University of Bradford stadium tomorrow can be said to be crucial for the Bantams to comeback after losing 1-0 in the away leg.

This fixture is also crucial for the Trotters to extend their lead and book their place at Wembley.

In the home fixture in the regular season, which took place in April, Bradford drew 1-1 with Wanderers, which saw Bolton striker Johnny Kenny score the opening goal and Bradford-born striker Kayden Jackson equalising for the Bantams.

Now, with the fixture coming up tomorrow, Graham Alexander has been previewing the game and key topics surrounding Bradford City currently.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Alexander spoke about the Bantams home form this season, which arguably put them in the position that they are in now.

On this topic, the Bradford boss stated: “It is special, what the fans have bought into and played their part in is brilliant, but we have to play our part. When we are down to 10 men, and they still encourage us to go on, that is vital.

“There will be disappointments in any game, including tomorrow, but the positivity helps us massively. The faith in the team is unwavering. You see managers pleading with supporters on what to do in these positions. I do not have to do that because I know our support will be there once again.”

Meanwhile, he also provided an injury update on Tyreik Wright and Bradford-born Bobby Pointon.

Speaking about this, Alexander stated, Tyreik Wright: “He is in a better position than last week. He got 30 minutes in the first leg, but the key is the data in that time.

“He ran more than a normal player in that half an hour! Both Tyreik and Bobby want to play and would have played sooner, but neither will do so at the detriment of the team.”

Bobby Pointon: “He is in contention, but contention is us seeing where he is physically at the last minute, to see if he can play a part.

“If I talk about the value of the squad and pick a player who is 60% fit, that is not right. We will assess him and make the best decision for the team over an individual.”

With this update, it appears that the club are still assessing whether Tyreik Wright and Bobby Pointon can play a part in the second leg.
