Here we take a look at Ejiro Abbey and what he can do for Peterborough United’s under 21 side following his move

League One side Peterborough United have signed young winger Ejiro Abbey from Isthmian side Binfield.
The young starlet had a trial period with the Posh and after proving himself there and in his league campaign Peterborough have signed the player on a long term contract and he will currently play for the clubs Under 21s.
Abbey is a young winger year who loves to create chances and score goals, Peterborough spotted him playing at Binfield who are based around Bracknell and play 3 divisions lower than the National League.
Ejiro formerly played for Reading‘s academy however they released him which found him at Binfield. The Posh have signed the player in hopes he can become a star first team player in the future. The player is reportedly only 18.
Abbey said with his interview with Peterborough upon signing “As soon as I walked through the door, I was made to feel incredibly welcome, by my team-mates and by the coaches and it felt like the perfect place for me to try and show what I can do.”
The winger is known for his pace and goalscoring ability in the non-league scene, however this is very different to league football so it may take time for him to adjust. Peterborough will be looking to get the best out of him like they have with former academy graduates such as Harrison Burrows.
They’ll be hoping for plenty of goals and opportunities to score from him as that is said to be his specialty and he knows that’s what his job is.
Ejiro loves to run at the fullbacks and get the beating of them with his blistering pace, however could Abbey become the next Ricky-Jade Jones? Jones joined the academy as a rapid winger but left as a striker always finding holes in the defence infront of him. Abbey loves to score and get at the defence which is why he may become very similar.
Ejiro only being reported as only 18 gives the player plenty of time to develop as a player and potentially become Peterborough’s next non league star.
