Portsmouth are currently aiming for success in the Championship as they look to secure their place in the English second tier for another season.
The side, who drew 1-1 with Southampton in the south coast derby on Sunday, are currently 21st in the league although are just one point above the relegation zone heading into the next set of fixtures.
With this in mind, the coming week (which is the last of the January transfer window) could be imperative, both in improving their squad and in gaining a bigger gap to the relegation zone.
However, whilst Pompey have signed both Ebou Adams and Millenic Alli in this window, some of the club’s players have been linked with moves away.
Now, defender Jacob Farrell has attracted interest from League One, the Scottish Premiership, the A-League and Denmark’s Superliga this month, according to The News, as interested clubs look to secure his services.
Speaking about Farrell’s immediate future, manager John Mousinho stated: “Watford was Faz’s first league game since September 2024, that’s a huge amount of football to miss for someone we’re considering a loan for earlier in the window.
“That’s something we’ve spoken about, but we said that’s something that can’t happen because we need him now. I wasn’t lying when I said that.
“For us, there’s a scenario where Faz stays in and impacts the side for the rest of the season. We’ll have to see.”
The 23-year-old has made just one appearance for Portsmouth in the league so far this season and has been limited to just three appearances for the club across the last two seasons.
Now, with other clubs linked with Jacob Farrell, it appears that he could be on his way out.
But, with just a week of the window remaining, interested parties may have to act quick to secure the Australian’s services.
