Charlton Athletic are nearing the end of their first season back in the Championship following promotion from the play-offs at the conclusion of last season.
The outfit, managed by Nathan Jones, are 17th in the English second tier currently although sit under ten points away from the relegation zones.
With this in mind, recent good form, which has seen two wins in a row emerge, may help to reassure fans of another season in the Championship.
Although the season is ongoing, there is still transfers happening all around the world as clubs look to strengthen their squads.
Now, Charlton Athletic have lost another player to a loan deal with defender Josh Laqeretabua joining Bath City on loan until the end of the season, as revealed on the official Athletic website.
The defender, who came through Charlton’s youth academy, has made ten senior appearances for the club since his debut in September 2023, with three appearances coming in the league.
Commenting on the deal, Individual Development Coach Dave Huzzey said: “Josh is another one of our young players who is thought of highly by our first-team and academy staff.
“He’s performed excellently in our U21s game programme and the next step of his journey is to go and do the same in the men’s environment.
“I’m really excited that we’ve been able to link up with Bath City as they are a club that are known for helping produce some good young players.
“Their Manager, Darren Way, is someone who has worked in youth development before and will understand what Josh will need from his time with them.
“I wish both Josh and Bath success for the rest of the season.”
Josh Laqeretabua could make his debut in the coming weeks and will look to make an impact in the closing months of the season.
