A key Lincoln City midfielder has signed a new deal at the club, giving Michael Skubala’s side another lift

Lincoln City have secured the long-term future of midfielder Dom Jefferies until the summer of 2028 after triggering a clause in his contract.
The 23-year-old signed for the Imps in the summer of 2024 from Gillingham and has since featured 57 times for City, with seven goal contributions to his name.
Jefferies appeared over 65 times for the Gills, scoring twice and assisted a further three.
Prior to joining the Gills, Jefferies played for Newport County, he would only make six appearances for the Welsh side, gaining one assist across the two seasons.
Sporting director Jez George said: “Dom signed a different type of contract to typical when we found something at his medical before signing him. He has since successfully rehabbed from two major hip surgeries, and it was always our intention to then trigger our option.
“Dom is a crucial player within our squad. He has attributes and behaviours that we really value, he can play in a number of positions but that shouldn’t also detract from the fact that we see him as a potential starter within our team as we saw with his contribution last season.
“Dom is an exceptional character, a real fighter, highly thought of by the coaching staff and has the ability to make a big impact for us in the second half of this season.”
With Lincoln City fans dreaming of the Championship, a ew deal for Dom Jefferies feels like a huge contract extension as the club and player both look for stability and security. Jefferies has proved himself to be a huge part of he squad at the LNER Stadium.
The Imps have been in unstoppable form recently and are unbeaten in their last 12 games in League One, including the 3-0 win over fellow promotion contenders Bradford City.
