Peterborough United starlet Kyrell Lisbie has signed a new long term contract which runs till 2030.
Posh signed Lisbie from Braintree Town in August and was originally thought to be a project signing to be developed over the years.
However, since joining Lisbie has notched 11 goals and five assists in 36 games in League one for Posh. Only Archie Collins and Alex Bass have played more minutes than the talented 22-year-old. Lisbie displaced the wingers ahead of him from the start of the season being Abraham Odoh and Cian Hayes.
Lisbie has flourished under Luke Williams especially in 2026 where the winger has 13 goal contributions in 15 games.
The 22-year-old has been crucial to Posh’s remarkable rise under Luke Williams. His partnership and understanding with Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Harry Leonard has also dominated League One defences, helping Posh as they aim for success.
Lisbie spoke to the club media team on Posh+.
He said: “I put it down to Luke Williams and Ryan Harley. The confidence they’ve put in me, to go out there and perform.”
Lisbie joined the numerous successful signings from non-league such as Jack Taylor, Ronnie Edwards and more notably Ephron Mason-Clark.
Kyrell is right on track to become another player on the conveyer belt of being sold for millions in years to come.
Lisbie’s first season statistically is very similar to the Coventry starlet Mason-Clark. Mason-Clark’s first season for Posh he scored ten goals and assisted eight in all competitions.
Lisbie has 14 goals and five assists in all competitions. It is safe to say if Lisbie progresses like EMC did in his second season that samba rhythm will be in full flow.
If Lisbie does follow this trajectory he will follow in the footsteps of not only Mason-Clark but Kwame Poku and Siriki Dembele. Will we see Lisbie in a Posh shirt for years to come or will he end up in the upper echelons of the EFL?
