Three Players Lincoln City Could Sign On Deadline Day

Lincoln City have been nothing short of astonishing this season, and the Imps sit just two points behind leaders Cardiff City in League One.

Michael Skubala’s side have lost just five times this season, the same as their Welsh counterparts. Lincoln haven’t lost since the 3-2 defeat back in November.

The Imps have already signed Ryan One, Alfie Lloyd, Josh Honohan and Deji Elerewe.

Here we will take a look at three options Lincoln City could target:

A Right Back On Loan…. Someone Like: Charlie Tasker From Brighton U21’s

Tendayi Darikwa is captain fantastic at Lincoln City, so consistent. The Imps signed Dexter Lembikisa on loan in the summer with the hopes o him pushing Darikwa but recalled him just after Christmas.

Someone like 20-year-old Charlie Tasker at Brighton will bring energy and competition to Darikwa in training and if given a chance, in matches too.

Tasker has appeared twice for the Brighton senior team and has over 90 outings for the academy, both at U21 and U18 level.

A Midfielder On Loan, Someone Like: Cameron Bragg At Southampton

Lincoln’s midfield is one of the strongest in the league, with several players fighting with the likes of Tom Bayliss, Conor McGrandles and Ivan Varfolomeev. Finn Barbrook was at the LNER Stadium too but was recalled by Ipswich Town and loaned out to Colchester United.

The Imps will be looking for someone who is able to step in, but mainly to push the players in front of him. Cameron Bragg at Southampton has played 21 times for the Saints at U21 level downwards, could he Barbrook’s replacement?

A Winger (If Erik Ring Departs), Someone Like: Ian Poveda At Sunderland

Erik Ring has struggled for gametime with Lincoln City this season, the Swede getting just 16 games under his belt with just 647 minutes played. Could he be loaned out so that he can develop?

Ian Poveda has made just six appearance for Sunderland since moving from Leeds United in 2024. He’s a name Lincoln have been linked with before and of course he’s worked with Michael Skubala before. Could he finally join?

One thing is for sure, whoever joins will have their work cut out to get into this Lincoln City team with the form the current squad are in. They would have to hit the ground running and really fight to earn a place.

The Championship is tantalisingly close now, can the Imps keep going? And do the fans dare to dream? I know I do!
