MK Dons manager Paul Warne and top scorer Callum Paterson have both received nominations in the EFL League Two Awards 2026. Paul Warne has been nominated for League Two Manager of the Season while Paterson finds himself on the League Two Player of the Season shortlist.
Both have had impressive seasons in their respective roles and will be looking to continue in this way, securing promotion back to League One.
Paul Warne took charge of the Dons at the end of their worst ever season. They finished 19th in League Two, with Warne guiding the team through the final four matches, avoiding defeat in them all.
With a whole summer to prepare and a big budget for League Two, Warne hit the ground running. His new look Dons side went unbeaten in their first five games, winning three.
A highlight of Warne’s season was MK going on a 14 game unbeaten run from early January to late March.
He has guided his Dons side to second on the table with four games left to play. Should his side secure automatic promotion to the third tier, Warne will be a really strong contender the League Two award, Manager of the Season.
The Dons top scorer and top assist provider was a guaranteed nominee for the League Two award, Player of the Season. Furthermore, Paterson has scored 14 in 29 starts for MK this season, with eight assists also.
Paterson is joint-fifth on the League Two scoring charts and is often praised for his aggression and ability to gather and protect the ball high up the pitch. In such a physical league, hard working players are vital.
After Paterson’s hat-trick against Shrewsbury Town, Paul Warne said, ‘His work-rate is phenomenal’. Paterson continually shows his commitment and passion, always fighting until the very end.
Paterson will look to keep up his goalscoring form in the final four games with the promotion race coming to its climax.
