Championship side Norwich City are closing in on the permanent signing of Brentford midfielder Paris Maghoma, according to Norwich reporter Connor Southwell.
Maghoma has played for Brentford just eight times last season, and hasn’t started any for the Premier League club. He has been injured for a lot of the campaign though.
The 24-year-old played for Wimbledon and MK Dons during the 2022/23 season, starting 41 games, scoring one goal and adding an assist.
This sort of consistency with appearances alerted Bolton Wanderers and he moved to the Trotters where he played a further 48 times. During his spell in the north-west he was phenomenal, scoring eight goals and assisting a further six.
This would catch the eye of Brentford. It now seems his days with the Bees could be numbered as he nears a move to Norwich City.
Philippe Clement’s side are looking to further escape the relegation zone as they look to end the season strong. The Belgian has come in and steadied the ship at Carrow Road and the signings of players such as Jovon Makama from League One side Lincoln City has definitely helped his cause.
The 21-year-old has hit the ground running and is the club’s top scorer with 13 goals in just 28 appearances. Josh Sargent is next with seven but he is widely rumoured to be leaving the club for pastures new.
City have won their last three matches, including a 5-0 win over West Brom in the Championship and a 5-1 thumping of League Two side Walsall in the FA Cup.
As well as Makama, Mathias Kvistgaarden, Papa Amadou Diallo and Miko Topic have also joined the Canaries, plus many more, as the board back Clement.
Could Norwich City get Maghoma firing again and help him overcome his injury nightmare?
