Since joining the Tykes on a free transfer from West Ham last summer, Patrick Kelly has delivered a series of mature, high‑impact performances in League One, registering two goals and four assists while becoming a central figure in Barnsley’s midfield.
Patrick Kelly has quickly become one of the division’s most exciting young midfielders. His blend of energy, composure and forward‑thinking play has made him a key part of Barnsley’s system. Before moving to England, Patrick Kelly developed through the youth system at Coleraine, where his early promise earned him recognition with Northern Ireland’s U19s. His performances in the Northern Ireland soon drew attention from across the water, eventually leading to a move to West Ham in 2022.
He made an immediate impact in East London, becoming a driving force in the academy side that lifted both the FA Youth Cup and the U18 Premier League South during the 2022/23 season.
