Peterborough United boss Luke Williams thinks that having a good attitude and togetherness will be a huge part of their matches over the coming weeks and their push for the playoffs.
Williams says that midfielders Donay O’Brien-Brady and Matt Garbett are the best attitude of high spirit, when speaking before their game against the Pilgrims.
Williams also made a comment on Plymouth’s board congratulating them on sticking with manager Tom Cleverley despite their poor start to the season.
Williams said that “Plymouth endured a really tough start, but they are getting some traction now.”
Plymouth have earned eight points in their last 5 league matches, with their only loss being a 4-1 to Reading at Home Park.
Meanwhile, Peterborough United have earned ten points in their last five, only losing to Lincoln at the LNER Stadium.
Both sides come into the game in good form.
However, their last five meetings go 3-2 in Peterborough’s favour, with their last meeting at the Weston Homes Stadium ending 5-2 to Peterborough with goals for Posh coming from Johnson Clarke-Harris (two), Hector Kyprianou, Harrison Burrows and Jack Taylor.
Speaking ahead of the game, via the Peterborough Telegraph, Luke Williams stated: “Everyone is playing their part.
“Even those disappointed not to be starting are aware they can make a big impact by making sure we finish games strongly.”
He also stated: “Donay was someone who was upset not to be starting recently, but he showed it in an entirely positive way.
“He is a very attack-minded player, but he will go out and do whatever we ask of him.”
Meanwhile, Williams showed how impressed he is with New Zealand international Matt Garbett when he stated: “In the last couple of games, I have also seen Matt Garbett make fully committed slide tackles to stop counter attacks and one massive recovery run to help protect his defence.
“When you add that level of responsibility play to his flair I see a very rounded player putting the team first.”
