Peterborough United are currently experiencing a conflicting League One season with Posh 14th in the English third tier ahead of their final games of the season in the coming weeks.
Managed by Luke Williams, the side have won just one of their last five games, which came against Mansfield Town in February.
However, looking at this more positively, Peterborough have only lost two of their five fixtures and will be looking to bounce back against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Furthermore, with upcoming clashes against clubs such as Cardiff City and Luton Town coming up, there is tough games that Williams’ side will have to embrace if they are to succeed in the closing stages of the season.
Away from footballing relations on the field, off-field operations are just as important.
Now, the club have announced a pre-tax profit of over £2.9million in their annual financial reports with Companies House, much higher than last year’s loss of £2.3million.
The report also showed that turnover was £16 million with the selling of Ronnie Edwards, Harrison Burrows, and Hector Kyprianou believed to contribute to this.
The report, filed by Companies House, also shows that the overall wages for players and other staff rose from £6.56m to more than £7.5m.
Furthermore, in a statement, chief executive Dawn Gore said: “Success on the pitch has been supplemented by the tremendous work off it, with the commercial team continuing to break records in terms of revenue and the retail department going from strength to strength following the opening of the new (club) store.”
These figures demonstrate an arguable transformation in Peterborough United finances, with turnover increasing massively to help losses turn into profits for the club.
Peterborough travel to Leyton Orient on Saturday and success in League One would further contribute to prolonged financial success at the club.
