Hull City are set to make their first January 2026 season, as the side look to build a promotion push in the remainder of the campaign.

Hull City have arguably been the Championship team of the season so far.
Following a season where they survived relegation on the final day, things got even worse for the Tigers when they were punished by the EFL for making late payments to other clubs.
These punishments meant that they would be unable to pay transfer fees for players until January 2027.
This led to many tipping Hull for relegation before a ball had even been kicked.
But, so far, they have all been proven wrong. Only goal difference keeps Sergej Jakirovic’s side outside of the playoffs after 25 games played.
They will look to keep their momentum going by securing their first signing of the January transfer window. Seny Dieng.
It is being reported that a termination of Dieng’s contract at Middlesbrough is being negotiated which would facilitate his move to the MKM Stadium.
Dieng hasn’t started a game since December 10th, 2024, being plagued by injuries since.
The Senegalese shot stopper brings a wealth of Championship experience to Sergej Jakirovic’s side.
He was Queen’s Park Rangers starting goalkeeper from 2020-2023, before moving to the Riverside where he was number one for a season and a half before being injured.
In his 168 Championship appearances, he has kept 35 clean sheets.
As impressive as the Tigers have been so far this season, their defence has been poor. They have conceded 38 goals in 25 games, the joint 4th worst in the division.
This will give Seny Dieng hope that he might be able to push Ivor Pandur for his starting spot. If the 31-year-old is able to stay fit, this could prove to be another shrewd signing from Hull.
Of course, not all of their transfers since their restrictions have paid off. It has been suggested that Brandon Williams could be leaving the Northeast after less than six months.
