Premier League Club Hold Interest in Southampton Forward

A Premier League club holds a interest in the Southampton forward, as the club looks to build their squad.

Southampton

Slow-sinking ship Wolverhampton Wanderers have long-term interest in Southampton forward, Adam Armstrong, however a move no longer looks likely this month.

Wolves are on course to be one of the worst Premier League sides of all time, following in the footsteps of Derby County and Southampton in previous years.

The club is looking to start their Championship rebuild early, and have interest in several second tier players.

One of these is Southampton’s Adam Armstrong.

Wolves Interested in Saints striker

Southampton striker Adam Armstrong, who is currently top scorer in the Championship with 11 goals, was looked at by Wolves at the start of the January transfer window and in the summer of 2025.

However a move for the 28-year-old has now gone cold, reports the Express & Star.

Southampton will not be looking to let the English forward go in a hurry, however a serious bid from Wolves could be intriguing to the club who will want to raise funds.

Armstrong has 43 Southampton goals since joining the club in 2021, but has struggled when playing in the Premier League – suggesting Wolves are thinking ahead.

This looks to be serious interest from the Wanderers, but given both sides will be challenging for promotion next season, it’s going to take a big bid to force Southampton Sporting Director Johannes Spors’ hand.

Would Armstrong Be A Smart Sale?

While Adam Armstrong has never appeared to be a top quality player, his sale could be the catalyst for signing a new number nine.

While the Englishman has a decent record at the club, there is a strong feeling that all parties may soon need to part ways.

According to Transfermarkt, Adam Armstrong is worth in excess of £7m, but the Saints would surely be wanting more to let their top scorer go midway through the campaign.
