Opening day – Birmingham City fixtures
This season will be a huge test for Chris Davies side, the EFL points record holders will start the league with a tough fixture. Ipswich at home on the 8th of August is how Blues will kick off their season. The tractor boys are favourites to win the league this year so it Davies could pull off a result here it could set Birmingham up for a huge season.
The two side drew 2-2 when they met at St. Andrews a few seasons ago with Ipswich coming back from 2-0 down. In the away fixture Ipswich scored two late goals to seal three points winning the game 3-1.

The Hollywood Derby – Birmingham City fixtures
Birmingham vs Wrexham dubbed the Hollywood derby by Sky Sports last season is coming to the EFL Championship as the two sides met at St. Andrews on the 11th of April. And at the Racecourse on the 4th of October. With highly ambitious owners these two clubs could both be fighting for promotion again.
Last seasons games were not short of goals and drama, with Blues coming out on top in the first meeting beating the Reds 3-1. Two goals from Jay Stansfield and a super strike from Iwata sealed the victory after Birmingham originally went a goal down early on. At the Racecource Wrexham again went a goal up in the opening ten minutes but Lyndon Dykes equalised not long after and the two sides were unable to break each other down.

West Midlands Derbys – Birmingham City fixtures
Birmingham fans also have a couple of derby days to look forward to in the EFL Championship season, although not as big as their main rivalry with Aston Villa, the game against West Bromwich Albion can produce a fierce matchup. Blues face the Albion at home on the 14th of February. And away on the 26th of November. Blues have had some good memories against West Brom recently with Scott Hogan scoring a hat-trick at the Hawthorns three seasons ago. And Birmingham have not lost to Albion at St. Andrews in their last three meetings but the last times these two clubs met before Blues were relegated Weimann scored in the last five minutes at the Hawthornes to give three points to the Baggies.

Another fierce game in the calendar for Blues fans will certainly be Coventry City, Birmingham haven’t had much luck when it comes to beating their rivals from across the West Midlands however they did beat the Sky Blues 3-0 in their last meeting. Historically this fixture has produced a lot of draws many of which being goalless, however this year could be different with both clubs having high ambitions it could set up the potential for a thrilling match up. Blues play Coventry at home on the 4th of January. And away on the 27th of September.

Festive Fixtures and Final Day – Birmingham City fixtures
Blues will take on Derby at home on Boxing Day followed by Southampton at home on the 29th of December then concluding the festive fixtures Blues will travel to Watford on the 1st of January.
The Blues will finish off the season away at Portsmouth on the 2nd of may. With all the EFL Championship fixtures now released could Blues go back to back and win promotion to the Premier League?
