Since joining Blackburn Rovers after former head coach John Eustace left the position to join fellow Championship side Derby County, Valerien Ismael took Blackburn Rovers to a seventh place finish, narrowly missing out on playoff positions by two points.

Fast forward to just under a year later and Blackburn are now sat in 20th position with only seven wins and now Ismael is under immense pressure.

According to Fans Network UK Blackburn Rovers supporters are calling for a boycott of their game against Swansea City today in the hope to change the club’s ownership.

The Impact Of The Boycott

The boycott will be necessary in the future of Blackburn Rovers, especially with Ismael in charge and their record so far this season. The Venky’s will have to choose between whether to stick with a struggling manager or to listen to the fans and end Ismael’s tenure at the club.

However, if the boycott of tonight’s game doesn’t succeed this could have a detrimental impact on the future of Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

If Valerien Ismael is to continue the way he has, Rovers may fall down to League One, lowering to massive losses of income especially in TV rights.

Many fans may give up coming to Rovers games due to the ownership problems further lowering the club’s revenue streams and its continuation of the clubs bad publicity which may potentially stunt any new ownership opportunities.

There is more than one impact that this boycott will have on Blackburn Rovers, but, Valerien Ismael has a point to prove against Swansea City. What do you think, is boycotting this game going to have a major impact on the future of Blackburn?

Is sacking Ismael right at the end of the transfer window a smart idea? Let us know your thoughts on social media.
