Blackpool boss Ian Evatt has praised one of his forwards, despite the Seasiders struggling for form at the bottom end of the table.

Blackpool boss Ian Evatt has praised on-loan striker Michael Obafemi, after the Burnley man hit the ground running for the Seasiders.
Obafemi has started four times for Evatt’s side but has yet to break his scoring duck, but that hasn’t stopped the manager praising what Obafemi is contributing, both in matches and at training. The 25-year-old had an unsuccessful loan at VFL Bochum playing just twice, during his time in Germany.
Obafemi has also had loans with Millwall, Plymouth Argyle and prior to joining them, Burnley.
He has also had successful spells in South Wales with Swansea City where he hit 15 goals and Southampton where he hit four goals in 32 outings.
“He’s looking a lot better, I’ve got to say. It was short-term pain for long-term gain with him, and there’s a lot of football still to go.” said Evatt speaking to the Blackpool Gazette.
“Every game, and every day in training, he’s looking more and more like the Michael Obafemi we know. He’ll build on that today for two big home games.”
As mentioned above, Blackpool now face two tough home games, against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday and then Mansfield Town next Tuesday. The Seasiders have struggled this season and find themselves just a point outside the relegation place in 17th in League One.
Two wins against the above mentioned teams would go a long way to helping Evatt’s side hit their target of survival. They then face a tough trip to Bolton Wanderers who are vying for promotion at the top end of League One.
Evatt’s men have just one win since the run of the year, at home to Northampton Town on January 24th. Five defeats has plunged them into the relegation dogfight and Evatt will be hoping their form can change, beginning with the draw they just accumulated at home to Huddersfield Town.
