Three Players Bolton Wanderers Could Sign On Deadline Day

Bolton Wanderers currently sit in the top half of EFL League One although could look to recruit on deadline day.

Bolton Wanderers

The deadline of the January transfer window is approaching, with Bolton Wanderers sitting third in the League One table following the 30 games they have played so far this campaign.

However, with the deadline on the horizon today, the League One side could look to improve their squad to both give themselves more depth in certain areas whilst also giving Wanderers more chances of success.

This article outlines three potential signings that Bolton Wanderers could pursue prior to the deadline of the window.

Bolton Wanderers Potential Signings

Ryan Hardie

Ryan Hardie has struggled for gametime in the EFL Championship for Wrexham so far this campaign, with the forward making 10 appearances and netting a single goal.

Furthermore, in the striker’s last spell at Plymouth Argyle, the 28-year-old scored 74 times in 248 appearances.

Meanwhile, Bolton’s full side have contributed to 38 goals in League One this season.

With this in mind, the addition of Hardie to Steven Shumacher’s squad could help provide Championship experience, quality and more depth.

However, questions could arise about the ability of this move with Wrexham reportedly needing an incoming before sending the striker out on loan to Bolton, who are leading the hunt for the man.

Elliot Lee

Elliot Lee, who has had interest from a number of League One clubs this window, currently plays for Wrexham, and has also struggled for game time this season due to the Red Dragons making the step up to the Championship.

Last season, the midfielder featured 44 times and netted nine goals, as well as contributing to four assists in Wrexham’s promotion from League One.

With this in mind, a move to Bolton Wanderers could be beneficial both for the midfielder to receive game time after his injury and for Wanderers, with Lee bringing promotion-winning experience and depth to the side.

Louie Barry

Across the end of last season and the start of this season, Louie Barry in total has made 13 appearances for Hull City and Sheffield United in the EFL Championship, mainly due to injuries.

However, at the start of the 24/25 season, the winger netted 16 goals and picked up two assists in 24 appearances.

Therefore, when considering these factors, a loan move could be beneficial for the winger to arguably get his career back on track when he is back from injury in early February, also beneficial for Bolton with Amario Cozier-Duberry out injured.
