Boxing Day football is here as the beautiful game returns after the Christmas break

Festive football continues on Friday with the traditional Boxing Day fixtures. With Christmas dinner now settled, the beautiful game returns.
Birmingham City and Derby County meet in one of the early kick offs, with Millwall vs Ipswich Town being the other.
Birmingham City vs Derby County
Derby sit comfortably mid-table and will be looking to build momentum heading into the new years and January fixtures.
Birmingham could really do with a win here as the pressure mounts on manager Chris Davies.
Millwall vs Ipswich Town
Two of the top six meet at The Den on Friday with both sides looking to gain some momentum.
Millwall and Ipswich Town are separated by just two points so this is a crucial fixture for both sides
Coventry City vs Swansea City
Top of the table Coventry host Welsh side Swansea.
With the Swans in 19th and the Sky Blues sitting comfortably top of the tree, this should only go one way. Could this be a case of famous last words.
Leicester City vs Watford
Leicester have had a tough start to the season and the pressure mounts on Marti Cifuentes.
Watford sit in 10th but just a single point separates the two sides.
Middlesbrough vs Blackburn Rovers
Boro will be looking to bring down that six point gap to top of the table Coventry City whilst also looking at building a gap to a third placed Ipswich Town.
Blackburn are an odd commodity and are down in 20th at present, however, they will be looking to break away from the danger zone.
Norwich City vs Charlton Athletic
The Canaries have been struggling this season and would sit second bottom, things could be worse if not for Sheffield Wednesday’s off field issues.
Charlton are 17th and nine points away from danger, Nathan Jones will be hoping for three points here so they can climb the table even further.
Oxford United vs Southampton
Oxford parted company with manager Gary Rowett just before the Christmas break, so will be looking to impress any new manager.
Southampton sit in 11th and this shows in their form, they’ve won eight, drawn seven, and lost seven. They’re consistently inconsistent.
Portsmouth vs QPR
QPR sit just one point outside the playoffs and are in-form winning five of their last seven games.
Portsmouth sit 22st, just two points ahead of managerless Oxford United.
Sheffield Wednesday vs Hull City
The Owls have had a lot of off field issues, compounded by their points deductions and they’ve won just once game this season.
Hull, meanwhile, are flying and sit in 4th place level on points with Ipswich Town. Famous last words again but surely this is a Tigers win.
Stoke City vs Preston North End
Stoke have dropped off in the last few weeks dropping from second to eighth and will be looking to climb back up the table.
Preston have gone the other way and currently sit in 5th place. Both sides could do with the win.
West Bromwich Albion vs Bristol City
West Brom are another side struggling as the pressure mounts on Ryan Mason’s side, the Baggies sit in 16th.
Bristol City are 9th and just two points off the playoffs. Gerhard Struber will be hoping his side can push on.
Wrexham vs Sheffield United
In the teatime game, the Blades visit Wales to face Wrexham, both sides are struggling and were expected to do better than they currently are doing.
With the sides sitting 15th and 18th respectively, a win for either side could catapult their seasons ahead of the January window.
