Bradford City will be aiming for success in the closing months of the League One season as the outfit looks to launch a pursuit for promotion.

The Bantams, currently fourth in League One, lost 1-0 to Huddersfield Town in the Yorkshire derby on Saturday, with only two shots on target, meaning they haven’t won in two games.

Meanwhile, the outfit have scored just 35 times whilst also conceding 28 goals, putting them on a goal difference of +7.

With this in mind, City could look to recruit a striker in the closing stages of the window to help offer an option to the squad when current front man Stephen Humphrys is unable to deliver.

Now Bradford are exploring a move amongst other League One clubs for Port Vale striker Devante Cole, according to Football League World on their X account.

The 30-year-old has featured 23 times for Port Vale so far this season in League One and has scored 8 goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the former Bradford man has contributed to four assists so far this campaign.

For Cole, a move to Bradford could offer an opportunity to compete with other strikers and improve his goal-scoring figures.

However, given the quality and inconsistency of Cole in a relegation side, the former West Brom man could find it difficult to make the step up.

But, if he can hit the same form that he played with at Barnsley in League One (where he scored 34 times in 102 appearances), the 30-year-old could bring success to Bradford whilst proving to manager Graham Alexander that he deserves to be chosen consistently.

Whilst a battle on Port Vale’s Devante Cole is taking place, supporters of the Bantams and other League One clubs that hold interest could look to see how he could benefit the squad in the short term and long term.

However, with the final week of the window now close this decision may have to be quick if a deal is to be successful by Bradford and other League One outfits.
